Determination of unpolarized pion fragmentation functions using semi-inclusive deep-inelastic-scattering data

We present mapff1.0, a determination of unpolarized charged-pion fragmentation functions (FFs) from set single-inclusive ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation and lepton-nucleon semi-inclusive deep-inelastic-scattering (SIDIS) data. FFs are parametrized in terms neural network fitted to data exploiting the knowledge analytic derivative itself with respect its free parameters. Uncertainties on determined by means Monte Carlo sampling method properly accounting for all sources experimental uncertainties, including that parton distribution functions. Theoretical predictions relevant observables, as well evolution effects, computed next-to-leading order accuracy perturbative QCD. exploit flavor sensitivity SIDIS measurements delivered HERMES COMPASS experiments determine minimally biased seven independent FF combinations. Moreover, we discuss quality fit low virtuality ${Q}^{2}$ showing that, expected, low-${Q}^{2}$ generally harder describe within next-to-leading-order-accurate framework.
